About AJ Java The "A.J." in A.J. Java represents the founders' children Alexander James and Ada Janisse. The founder started with the idea that there should be a place in every neighborhood that families could call "home." Home is a place where you feel the most at ease. This place should reflect the rich diversity of the neighborhood and nation in which we all live. Home is where everyone knows your name (or at least your drink) before you step through the door. A.J. Java is a community partner. A.J. has participated in a disadvantaged youth training program for it's entire three years. A.J. Java has trained 25 students to date. If you see a new, young face at A.J.; know that your dollar goes to developing the youth of today into employable citizens of tomorrow. With an extensive background in the service and sales industries, she wanted to see if the dream was shared by many. To her pleasant surprise the vibe of the retail locations were felt by all. A.J. Java was founded in 2003; and has since added a second location in 2004. The third location is scheduled to open in November of 2006. This makes three locations in three years. And it is all due to the good grace of every customer we serve. A.J. Java Roasting provides all the coffee for the stores, and serves many other establishments.
